THE BROKEN HILL STRIKE
A BOMB EXPLOSION. NO DAAIAGE DONE. United Press Association, Copyright (Received Jan. 12, 9.50 p in.) SYDNEY, Jan. 12. A bomb exploded in Block 10 mine*, but did no damage. Failing a settlement before then, Block 10 closes on Thursday, throwing idle an additional 630 men. Tom Mann and the other released leaders headed the picket procession, to-day. All is quiet. The combined unions have cabled to England and the Continent asking for immediate financial assistance. ACTION BY ARBITRATION COURT ARRANGING ~~k CONFERENCE. (Received Jan. 13, 12.48 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 12. The President of the Arbitration Court is arranging a separate conference witli the directors of the Proprietary 7 mine and the men on Thursday 7 to discuss the trouble. AIELBOURNE, Jail. 12. To Proprietary directors concluded their meeting to-day, and forwarded a letter to the President . of the Arbitration Court. The contents are not disclosed. It is understood that the directors insist on the withdrawal of the pickets as a precedent to a conference.
