Judging from reports which have reached the Immigration Department, states tlie Wellington correspondent of the “LyttcltAa Times,” the assisted immigrants who have arrived in the Dominion have all found employment and have fully justified the change they made. Naturally there have been cases in which both tho Government and the immigrant have ■been disappointed, but generally the men are pleased with their new surroundings. Tho great majority have found employment of a permanent character, and are hopeful of quickly bettering their condition. Those’who .brought out capital have in many cases sought employment for the purpose of gaining experience before venturing their money in Dominion enterprises. As to the domestic servants, they All appear to have done well. Some of them have prospered" exceedingly. Generally the British domestic lias apparently “fallen on- her feet” and is* earning good money. .Miss Louisana Pletta, of Lowell, Mass., when once she falls asleep, remain's in an unconscious sfiate for periods, varying from one to three weeks. She suffers no ill-effects from her lengthy somnolence, and when she awakes she is under the impression that she has slept for only a single night. . " • / , _ .
