SUGGESTED REGULAR Cl!I I." TO THE DOMINIONS OVERSEAS. Tho visit of Sir Percy Scott’s cruiser squadron’ to South Africa ended on November 12th, when the wai ships Jett for South America. Capetown gave tho squadron a magnificent farewell. Immense crowds went to the harbor, and vast choirs, from opposite pierheads .serenaded the ships with "Auld Lang Syne, the National Anthem, and patriotic songs. ■Tho scene was one of extraordinary brilliance and enthusiasm. The South African newspapers and politicians urge the desirability of the Imperial Government’s organising periodical cruises by .similar squadrons. It is suggested that such voyages should be made trionnially to Keep alive the sense of Imperial unity and to strengthen the growing Imperial feeling in the colonies and their recognition of their obligations to the Mother-country in assisting in the maintenance of the Empire’s supremacy at sea. Sir Percy Scott, in a farewell message to South- Africa., said that the kindness and hospitality of South Africans in height equal the tops of Natal’s Aas vo gel’s Nest, in depth rival the deepest mine of the Transvaal, in breath are as boundless as the rolling plains of the. Oraiigo River Colony, and in stability arc comparable to Cape Colony’s majestic Table Mountain. rjjtHERE IS JAKE LEATHER.
