The, supporters of Air. J. Vigor Brown, ALP., entertained Inm at a fete on the Recreation Ground tonight in honor of bis election. The town bands played selections, and the attractions included an exhibition of Id ne m a tog rap h pietu res. Con gr a tu! atory speeches were made by the Hon. A. W. Hogg, who represented the Government, and Air. Higgins, the chairman of the entertainment committee, and Air. Brown made a suitable reply. The Hon/ A. W. Hogg also read a cordial telegram from the Prime Minister. who spoke highly of Air. Brown’s energy and capability, and welcomed him to the House of Representatives. About four thousand persons attended the fete, which was decided!v successful.
