UP-TO-DATE SHEEP MANAGEMENT.

VIEWS OF MEN WHO KNOW

No doubt every flock-owner is agre- j ed that the men who ought to know most of the many intricacies connected with first-class sheep management are those who have achieved for themselves the enviable distinction of having climbed to the topmost pinnacle of fame in their profession.. Such men are Mr Henry Dudding, the renowned breeder of Lincoln sheep in the Old Land; and the no less distinguished owners of the Widgiewa, . Wan-gnnella, and Deniliquin Stud Park merino flocks —Messrs John S. Horsfall,. Albert Austin, and Thomas Alillear respectively—in New South Wales. The prizes won at shows and the prices obtained for stock and wool sold are in themselves the very best criterion as to the perfection to which these world-renowned flocks -have been brought. To Air Henry Dudding, of Itiby Grove, England, we are indebted for tlie information that as oil improver of the growing fleece and a destroyer of all parasitic filth which infests sheep, as well as an effective safeguard against reinfestation, lie cannot speak too highly of the qualities of Quibell’s “Improved” Powder Dip. Air A. LL. Morrison, manager for Mr Horsfall, states that. all their champion .and show sheep were dipped in Quibell’s, and that after carefully experimenting with the -principal dips on the market he has discarded them all in favor of Quibell’s, which is now used exclusively on all Mr Horsfall’s extensive properties. And we .have to thunk Mr S. E. Donelan, manager for Thomas Alillear, Esq., of Deniliquin 'Stud Park, Demliquin, for -the information that the famous two-year-old merino ' ram Donald Dinnie, recently sold by Mr Alillear to the proprietors of Canowie Estate, South Australia,, for, 1200 guineas, wus also dipped in Quibcdl’s, which preparation has been in use on Deniliquin Stud Park flock for five years .with satisfactory results.
