The •latest addition to the press of New Zealand has appeared tin the form of ‘‘The Citizen/ a fortnightly joiurnal published in Wellington and sold at threepence. It strikes a new note in independent journnllsm, and, as the editor writes, “the paper will speak its mind without fear and without favor.” The contents of the first number .will commend .it to readers and as a review of current affairs the ' journal should be widely read. “The Citizen” is owned and edited by iMr A. N. Field, lately of tlie sub-editorial stuff of the' “Dominion.”
