RAILWAY COLLISION.

NO ONE SERIOUSLY HURT

[Press Association.] MABTON, Feb. 2. At tlic Marton -railway station today the mail train from Wanganui ran into an engine being used for shunting purposes in tlic yard. Both engines were considerably damaged, and one carriage broken. No passenegrs were hurt, hut several fainted from the shook. A. child was knocked tlirough ia window, but was unhurt. There were two engines on the mail train. The fireman on the front engine was 'badly cut in the band and bruised on tlic shoulder and ribs. The )line was cleared in about ’ an hour. It was a lucky escape from-a more serious accident.
