GISBORNE RACING CLUB. SUMMER MEETING—(SECOND day. The second day of the .summer meeting of the Gisborne Racing Club was highly successful.. Tho rest of the events wore well fought out, although Millennial scored rather easily in the Final Handicap. Mr. H. E. -Dodd .(secretary to the club) worked hard to mako the meeting a success. The Federal Band gave an enjoyable programme of music on the dawn, and Mrs. Erskine dispensed luncheon, and afternoon tea. Seventeen bookmakers avere licensed, and during the' day £3090 was put through the totalisator, making £6436 for the meeting, as against £5318 for the corresponding day last year and £10,153 for the club's summer meeting in 1908.

The Stripper 9.0 also started. Reservoir, followed by To Arai, was the first to move off. Rounding the turn, To Arai assumed command, and led past the post for the first time. The Hawke’s Bay horse was replaced at the turn by Tino Toa, hut Kirk shook his mount up in the straight, and Rock Ferry came on at a great pace and won easily by three lengths. Time, lmin lsoe.
