SAYONARA CUP. SECOND RACE—A WIN FOR THE MELBOURNE YACHT. United Press Association, Copyright (Received February 7, 4.30 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Feb. 7. The second race for the Sayonara Cup resulted in an oasy win for the Sayonara. Tlio weather was perfect, with a south-easterly breeze. A triangular course was sailed. The local boat got a secure position. The Thelma was first over the. line in a steady breeze. The Sayonara quickly forged ahead, and rounded the first buoy eight minutes thirty-three seconds ahead of her rival. She sailed right away to the second buoy, founding it ten minutes fifty-five seconds before the Thelma. On the long reach lioTne the Thelma slightly improved her position, sailing very fast m a freshening breeze, but the Sayonara finished nine minutes fifty-one seconds beforo her.
