THE INFLUENCE OF THE STAGE
United Press Association. Copyright LONDON, Feb. 7. In consequence of newspaper comments, the influence of the play, “In the. Englishman’s Home,” and Lord Esher, through the “Daily Mail,” appealing for 11,000 territorials to completo the London establishment, an anonymous donor lias , forwarded £IO,OOO to the funds of’ the London territorials’ Association. The Mayors °f .London and boroughs arc calling meetings, and over 200 large firms are granting territorials three weeks’ holiday to encourage enlisting. A NEWSPAPER APPEAL. RAPID ENROLMENT. (Received Feb. 8, 10.20 p.m.) •LONDON, Fob. 8. In response ■to the “Daily Mail’s” appeal, a thousand men were enrolled in tlie London territorials in three days.
