MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8. (Before. Mr W. E. Akroyd, J.P.) DRUNKENNESS. / Thus. Dwyer, on a charge of drunkenness, was, on the application of Sergt. Hutton, remanded for a week, as lie had been drinking to such an extent that he was even then under tho influence of liquor. The remand was granted. Robert Orbell pleaded guilty to a second offence of drunkenness, and was convicted and fined 10s with 2s costs, or 48 hours’ imprisonment. John Ryan also pleaded guilty, and a similar penally was imposed in his case. « PROCURING LIQUOR. Charges of procuring liquor during the currency of their prohibition orders were also preferred against OrbeU and Ryan. ' v On tho application of Sergt. Hutton botlrtcases were remanded for a week. In Ryan’s ease bail of £lO and one surety in a similar amount was granted, but bail was refused to Orbell, being opposed by Sergt. Hutton. ALLEGED THEFT. Norman McLeod was charged with having, on January 29th, stolen one bay horse, valued at £3, and one saddle and bridle, valued at £6 10s, the property of James Rutherford Shaw, of Pakarac. Mr A. Trevor Coleman appeared for the accused, and Sergt. Hutton prosecuted on behalf of the police. By arrangement an adjournment was granted until February 16th.
