ANNUAL SESSION OF COUNCIL. [Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 10. The annual session of the Council of the Congregational Union of New Zealand was opened this morning. The Rev. W. S. Fernio presided. Tho following sessional officers were appointed:—Minute Secretary, Rev. G. Heighway: corresponding secretary, Rev" Archibald E. Hunt: reporter u* English and Colonial papers, Rev. A. Hodge; reference com mi tike. Revs. W. A.'Evans, W. J. Gloss, S. Griffiths, D. Hird. and H. Steel Craik; finance committee, the outgoing committee of the Union, with power to add to their number; reporter for the “Outlook,” Rev. R. MeN aught on. An apology for absence was received from Mr. W. H. Lyon, the Council’s treasurer, and-JMr. F. Meadowcroft was appointed acting treasurer. ___ At the evening session, the Rev. W. Sv Fernio delivered the annual address, the subject being the need of authority.
