FIRE AT WANGANUI.

A CHILD PLAYING WITH MATCHES. [Press Association.] WANGANUI, Feb. 11. A fire occurred this afternoon in a. seven-roomed house in Glasgow Street, occupied by Charles Marsh, and owned by Mrs. Hackett. The fire was confined to the back portion, which was completely gutted. No damage was done to the front rooms. The furniture is insured in the Victorian Office for £IOO. It is not known whether the. house is insured. The origin oif the fire is a mystery, but it is surmised that it was caused by a four-year-old child playing with matches.
