THE LATE MR. HONE HEKE. WELLINGTON, Feb. 11. The obsequies of the late'Mr. Hone Hekc. commenced this morning, when the body was taken by rail to Otaki, where a tangi is being held to-day. To-morrow the remains will be taken on to Wanganui, and finally to Kaihoe for interment. The Native Minhas gone to Otaki, ai d may go to Wanganui.

A HOMESTEAD BURNED. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 11. - The homestead at Glcnroy, near Glentunnel,, a seven-roomed"" house, with a dairy and storeroom, the property of Frank Hiatt, was burned down at midnight on Tuesday. Nothing was saved. The inmates, Mr. and Mrs. Hiatt and child, had a narrow escape.
