SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 12

Mr. Gillctt, Governor of California, announces that if tho projected census of Japanese in California shows the necessity for it, Congress will be urged to enact- the exclusion of Asiatics.

President Roosevelt, in a telegram to Mr. Gillett, congratulated all who aided to kill the Japanese School Children’s Bill, and adds that the way in which California had done the right thing for the nation makes it all the more obligatory for the nation to safeguard California’s interest. He personally would do his utmost to this eud.
