U.S.S. CO.'S PUKAKI DISABLE [Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Feb 15. Ihe Pukaki. which arrived from Lyttelton this morning, had a mishap to her machinery at 2 a.in. yesterday, when two low-pressure slide valve spindles broke. By 2.30 p.xn. temporary repairs enabled the voyage to be resumed. The Mararoa passed her in the morning, but did not see the distress signals. the Mararoa returned in the affev-y noon repairs had been effected, and T no assistance was required.
