MEETING OF DIRECTORS. A meeting of the Young Men’s Christian Association Board of Directors was held on Monday evening, the. president (Mr. F. S. Malcolm) in the chair. The special committee set up to go into the question of furnishing the new building presented a report, which showed that at least £3OO would bo needed to furnish the rooms adequately and make them ia social centre for the young men of tho town and surrounding districts. The treasurer reported that there was £125 in hand, but a large number of those who had promised subscriptions had not yet forwarded their donations.

Considerable discussion followed the reading of the report, which was adopted by the Board.

The membership .fee was fixed at £1 per annum for young men over 21 years of age, and i.os for those under 21.

<t The following committees were appointed : Finance: Messrs Adair, Aickin, Preston, Kirk, and Kissling. Membership : Capt. Cummings, Rosie, Toney-cliffe, ■ Perry, Peach, Elinor, and the general secretary. It was decided to inaugurate a membership campaign, to be set in operation, at the usual meeting of the Association next Tuesday evening, and to try and gain a large membership by the opening uiglxt. It was agreed to inaugurate the Debating Society as soon as possible, and a committee was set .up to make preliminary arrangements. Judging from the enthusiasm displayed by the mcTjibers of the Board in discussing the various phases of the work the success of the movement appears assured.
