GISBORNE ROWING CLUB.
[To THE EdIXOII.] Sir, —On reading your paper this morning I was greatly surprised at the crews picked to- represent the Gisborne Rowing Club in the Shield contests. Why men like Bennett, Butler, Rangi, Doyle and Rowe are left out I would like to know. I fully expected, on reading through the names, to see the following chosen to represent the Seniors: Gunn (str.), Flynn,, Cornish, Morgan; Now, if the Gisborne Rowing Club intend to put up .a hard fight for the Shield the following crews should (I think) represent them:—Juniors: P. Hamilton, Rangi, Dobson, Rowe; 10 stone: Bright, Butler, Doyle, Bennett; Seniors: Smith. Puflett, Williams, Johnston ; but if they wish to make the Poverty Bay Club a present of the Shield, well, leave the crews as they are.—l am, etc., ‘•'OLD MEMBER,” G.R.C.
