NAPIER WOOL SALES. [Press Association.] NAPIER, Fob. 17. Tlic third and last of the season’s wool sales was held at Napier to-da.v, when, in spite of the Auckland sale being fixed for the. same time, there was a large attendance of local and outside buyers. The total catalogue was 6070 bales, an increase of 3713 on tho number offered at the third sale last year. Superior lots were eagerly competed for, and tho prices obtained for them compared favorably with those of the January sales. Tho bulk of the wool, however, was not of this class, and there, was no American competition, -wool suitable for that market not being in evidence. Prices were in keeping with quality, and did not indicate any downward tendency in the market. For tho principal lines prices ranged as follows : —Fine crossbred to 9d, medium to Bjd, coarse to 7] d; good lamb wool to 8-;}d, extra to l(K-d; inferior to 6d; pieces to Cd.
