PURCHASED BY AUCKLAND SYNDICATE. [Press Association.] AUCKLAND. Fob. 17. An Auckland syndicate has acquired the entire rights to the steamer Aeon wrecked at Christmas Island, and will despatch the auxilary scow Zingara. fully equipped with lifting gear, and carrying divers, carpenters and laborers." The syndicate are hopeful of salvaging a cargo of 100 tons of general merchandise and 2,000,0001 -ol timber and refloating the Aeon. I be. hull is reported to be not badly damaged, and the cargo to he well preserved. The expedition is to bem charge of Captain Robinson, while the expedition 'will he fitted out under the direction of Captain AY. Ross.
