LONDON, Feb. 19
The Poor Law Commission report’ recommends the title “public assistance” instead of “poor law relief,” the abolition of guardians, workhouses, and the present poor * law areas; the transferment of the work to borough and county councils, with experts, helped by Public Assistance Committees, Wlio will link private charities to public assistance; the creation of labor colonics for uncmployahles, and the creation of labor exchanges. It is a gigantic report, with 40 volumes of evidence.
