• Mr, Asquith, replying to Mr. W. P. Byles, said that no arrangement had—been made at the Berlin visit of King Edward affecting the respective navies. Germany adheres to her views, but the • King’s visit had made it clear that our naval expenditure was not regarded as a cause of friction.
