The annual picnic of the Anglican Sunday School was held on the'Wainui beach on Saturday. Six large brakes conveyed the children and parents to the selected spot, and a very pleasant day was spent. A number of races for the juveniles were run off during the afternoon, and swimming and other forms of sport were indulged in by the cider ones. The party returned to town about six o’clock in the .evening after a happy outing. The Itevs. W. H. Roberts and M. Cockerill nvcro present during the day and materially assisted Miss Wilson and Mr: Hicks in promoting the enjoyment of everyone present.
