GOOD FLOW AT NO. 2 HOKE

On Saturday Mr. W. E. Akroyd received the following telegram in connection with the Taranaki No. 2 oil bore: “In 24 hours got ten thousand gallons of oil and salt water. Apparently struck oil at last.” [Press Association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb., 20. A‘> the' result of about 24 hours’ actual pumping since the fire occurred at the petroleum works, abou' 1200 gallons of oil lias been obtained. There is little brine in the well, bet the manager regards this as an excellent sign. There is also little silt, which is to he expected, the pump working splendidly. The oil yield is increasing. The manager declares the prospects to be good.
