BOWLING.
GISBORNE CLUB. There was a' fairly numerous attendance of members of the Gisborne Bawling Club at their green on Saturday afternoon, and some interesting play took place. The following were the most noteworthy games: — Dodds, Birss, Bright, F. A. Martin (skip) 21, beat Pavitt, H. Lewis, Corson, Ponsford (skip) 11. Ivirby, Paltridge, W. Pettie (skip) 16, beat Wootton,- Wilson, Williams (skip) 15.—This game was very closely contested throughout, and the score was even, 15 all, on the 20th head. TURANGANUICLUB. There Was a fairly good muster of members on the green of the Turanganui Club on Saturday afternoon. The most interesting match was one in the Bennett Cup competition, between J. J. Martin and Ratcliffe, which resulted in favor of the former by 19 to 15. During the early part of the game Martin established a strong lead, but in the latter heads Ratcliffe scored several times, and reduced Martin’s lead to four points.
