The Right Rev. Dr. Williams. Bishop of Wa-iapu., has forwarded his resignation to the Primate, and asked to be relieved of the charge on J une 30. A Press Association telegram from Auckland states that Bishop Lenihan, Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, returned on Sunday evening, after a twelve months’ trip abroad. He was met by a reception committee and escorted to Bishop’s Palace. Ponsonby. 3lr. H. D. Bedford. M.A.. lecturer in political economy at the University of Otago, lias been asked to write for the “Financial Review of Reviews” an article on the geographical distribution of invested capital, and he has consented to do so. The London editor says that he proposes to devote considerable space to the discussion of this important international question, and that, with that end in view, he is endeavoring to secure the co-opera-tion of political, economists of undoubted reputation the world ever. It is a compliment to Mr. Bedford, and also to his university, to be selected as one of the contributors. _ Mr. Bedford is the author of “Political Finger-posts.”
