ENTERTAINMENTS.

MISS BOSEMAEX EEES

Already considerable interest is'being manifested in the. appearance of Miss Rosemary Rees at His Majesty’s Theatre to-morrow week, Wednesday, March 3rd, when an exceptionally strong programme will be presented, including the first production in New Zealand of three short one-act plays written bv Miss Rees, and produced in London by Mr. Percy Hutchinson. Miss Rees will be assisted by Airs. Horvil, Air. and Airs. Alax Jackson, Air. and Airs. Frank Kennedy, Air. Johnston Brown, Air. Percy Adair, and a complete orchestra under Air. Alevnell Foster. The box plans will be opened at Air. Aliller’s on Friday morning, at 10 o’clock. WEST’S PICTURES. The management of West's Pictures was particularly unfortunate in being unable to open their Gisborne season in His Alajesty’s Theatre last night, owing to the late arrival of the U.S.S. Co.’s' Squall from Auckland. The vessel arrived in the bay at about 4 p.m.. but owing to the unsuitable tide at that hour did not berth at the wharf until 6 p.m. She had the dynamo for the company on board, but as there was about 200 tons of cargo to be shifted before they could get at it, it was at once seen that- the opening performance would neeessa'rily have to be postponed. The. management publish an apology in this morning's issue, and a'nnounce the initial performance to take place to-night. Judging from tlvo. large numbers of people that were turned away disappointed from the dooi’s last night, there should be an excellent house, and a first-class programme is promised to those who do attend.
