GISBORNE CLUB
A. meeting' of the committee j>f the Gisborne Bouvling Club was held yesterday morning; present: Messrs W. Pettie (president), Corson, Brady, T. A. Crawford, and C. Ambridge. A letter was received from the Turanganui Bowling Club proposing ail inter-club match, land it was decided to invite, the members of that club to a match on the Gisborne Club’s •green to-morrow afternoon. The, following members were selected to represent the Gisborne Club at the match in question:—T. Clarkson, Mackintosh, Brady, Simson (skip); Pavitt, F. Pettie, R. Robertson, T. A. Crawford (skip); Craig, J. 11. Martin, Corson, Witty (skip); E. Lewis, W. R. Clarkson, Eure, Ponsford (skip). Should any of the above players be unable to attend at 2 p.m. to-morrow they arc asked to notify the committee.
An interesting game took place on the Gisborne Club’s green yesterday afternoon between the following rinks : —W. Pettie, Pavitt, J. J. Martin, Simson (skip), and Wootton, Brady, Corson, T. A. Crawford (skip). Twenty-live heads were played, and on tho 18th head Crawford had scored 21 to Simson’s 9. The latter, however, scored on the next four heads, bringing up his total to 17. Crawford made two points on the 23rd head, but Simson put in two on tho 24th, and six on the final head, thus winning tho game by 25 to 23.
