COAXING VISIT TO ENGLAND. PRESENTATION CEREAIONIES. [Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Feb. 25. The Alayor of Auckland (Mr Arthur AL Myers), who vacates that position to-day in order to proceed on a trip to the Old Country, took leave of the citizens last night at an immense gathering in. the Albert Park. The function took place, at the Band Rotunda, the space which was beautifully Humiliated by lamps specially erected by the Gas Company. An address, which is to he illuminated, was presented to Ali> Myers by Mr L. J. Bagnall, President of the Chamber of Commerce, on behalf of the numerous subscribers. The Mayor was also the recipient of a presentation from the Auckland Provincial Bands Association. This took the form of a large shield bearing photographs of the members of the Association and of the Mayor and Mrs Alyers. It was mentioned that during the four years of office the Mayor had contributed £BSO to the funds of the Bands Association. Mr Alyers was also presented with an address from the suburban local bodies.
