CORRESPONDENCE.

[Correspondence on public matters is welcomed at all times, but it must be distinctly understood that this lournal is in no way associated with the opinions of its correspondents.] THE APPEAL FOR BREAD. [To the Editor.] Sir, —-A .touching incident happened this (Sunday) afternoon. Two little lads from Mangapapa waited on me with their money boxes, the contents of which they earnestly wished to send to feed the hungry boys in the Old Land. Their mother had read to them the letter to tlio children, and they felt that they must bring all that they had. Ono box contained 4s Sd, the box of the younger, and the older laddie said sadly, “There (fis not so much in mine.” But we found it contained more than lie thought—4s od. Ono feels that these little fellows put us all to shame, like the boys of last week, sinco they have given all that they possessed. I have much pleasure in acknowledging these amounts, and the sum of £1 12s from St. Andrew’s Girls’ Bible. Class (junr.). I 'am afraid that the non-church working men iwere conspicuous bv their ' absence at the churches where the collections were taken to-day. How are wo to give them an opportunity to .contribute?—l am, etc., WILLIAM. GRANT.
