LICENSING COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.
ACTIVITY IN DUNEDIN
[Pbess Association.] DUNEDIN, March 3. ' All the available cabs in the city have been secured in behalf of the Licensed Victuallers’ Association for the licensing election day. The No-i License party have engaged all the motor cars available for hire, as well as several buses. In some cases, says a prominent anti-trade organiser, < the hire of the motors for the day runs to as high .a figure as £7 10s each. The No-License Leaguers expect to see a heavy poll cast for the city, where reduction. was carried. The retiring committee, who are moderates, are standing for re-election, and are beingopposed by five temperance candidates, who will, if elected, reduce the number of hotels to the full* 25 per cent. There is sure to be a big fight.
