SWIMMING.

GISBORNE SWIMMING CLUB. The Gisborne Swimming Club held a. 75 yards handicap race at the school baths on Thursday evening. The race was swum in two heats, which resulted as follows: Ist heat; A. Adair 1, A. Becre 2. 2nd heat: L. Monce 1, O. Soivander 2. -The final-heat resulted in a very good race, A. IJeere just getting home in front of A. Adair by a few inches, in the fast time of 57 seconds. . Arrangements are 'well in hand forthe carnival, which it is proposed to hold on the 20th inst., and an attractive programme is promised.
