THE WHEAT MARKET —PROSPECT OF HIGH PRICES. United Press Association, Copyright (Received March 7, 4.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 6. Mr. Beerbohm estimates the requirements of wheat importing countries. at 63 million quarters, and the probable exports at 54] million quarters, therefore unless the trado lias been greatly deceived in respect to America and the Argentine, high prices are inevitable. PRODUCE MARKETS. Messrs F. S. Malcolm and Co., auctioneers, report the following prices realised at their produce sales on Saturday : —Fowls Is 9d to 2s 3d, roosters Is 6d to 2s, young turkeys 3s 6d to 4s 6d, eggs Is 8d to Is" lOd, tomatoes to 2d_ lb, onions 9s cwt, potatoes 6s to 7s 6d cwt, cabbages Is 6d to 2s doz, quinces Is doz, maxrows Is 6d to 2s 3d doz, pumpkins<L 2s 6d to 6s doz, plums lid to 2ld lb. apples l]d to 3d lb, pears lid to 21d lb, other vegetables and fruit at usual .A prices.
