PURSUANT to the provisions of ‘‘The Tramways Act, 1908,” 1 hereby give notice that this Council has received a notice, in writing, signed by five per centum of the ratepayers whose names are inscribed upon the special roll of the district proposed to be included in the Special Rating District in connection with the Patutahi Tramway Loan proposals, demanding that a Poll be taken upon the question whether or not the authorising order shall be applied for. IN accordance with the provisions of Section 117, •‘Counties Act, 1908,” and “The Rating Act, 1908," I hereby give notice that this Council will, on the 23rd day,of MARCH, 1909, make and levy a General Rate of hive Farthings in the Poimd (£) on all rateable property within the Ridings of the County, namely, Karaka, Kanakanaia, Motu, Mangatu, Ngatapa, and Waipaoa, for the period commencing Ist November, 1908, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1909.
