Weight Bst. Entry 10s. Four furlongs. 3. 1.30 p.m.— NUHAKA HANDICAP (open), of 25 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stake. Nomination 255; acceptance nil. One and a quarter miles. 4. 2.10 p.m.— LADIES’ HACK BRACELET HANDICAP. Nominator of winner to be presented with a bracelet valued at 10 sovs. Rider of winner to receive a silver-mounted whip (gentlemen riders). Minimum weight list. Horses to be nominated by ladies. Nomination 10s, acceptance nil. One mile. 5. 2.50 p.m.— FLYING HACK HANDICAP, of 12 sovs; second horse to receive 2 sovs from the stake. Nomination 12s, acceptance nil. Six furlongs. 6. 3.3Op.m.— DISTRICT HACK HAN- * DICAP of 13sovs; second horse to receive 3 sovs from the stake. Horses to be owned and trained in the Wairoa County for three months prior to date of race meeting. No horse or horses to leave the district after the date of nomination without the secretary’s written permission. Nomination 13s, acceptance nil. Five furlongs. 7. 4.10 p.m.— FAREWELL HANDICAP (open), of 15 sovs; second horse to receive 3 sovs from the stake. Nomination 15s, acceptance nil. Six furlongs. CONDITIONS. PENALTIES—The winner of any flat raoo, after the declaration of weights, to carry 71b penalty, of two or more flat races 121 b penalty. WEIGHTS will be declared on or about Saturday, March 13th. OPEN RACES.—No restrictions. ACCEPTANCES—Acceptances close Avith the Secretary, Mr. B. H. Aislabie, Mr. W. G. Nightingale, Napier, on Thursday, 18th March, 1909. HACK DEFINITION.—No horse eligible to start in a hack raco that has Avon a race of the value of 20 soa t s at timo of starting. No horse shall be allowed to start Unless all nomination fees have been paid. .. PERMlTS.—Permits will be issued to approved Bookmakers at £5 5s each. Permits must be obtained from the Secretary before 11.30 a.m. on the day of races. Bookmakers plying their occupation Avithout permission will be removed and prosecuted. MINIMUM WElGHT.—Minimum weight in all events excepting Maiden Scurry and Ladies’ Bracelet, 9st. PROTESTS. Protests, if any, must be made in AVriting and handed to the Secretary Avithin 15 minutes after the first horse passes the post. A deposit of £2 .must accompany each protest, such deposit to bo forfeited if the protest be not sustained. No entry will be received for any race except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the stewards. ENTRIES- — Entries Avill only be received on the condition that a decision of the majority of the steAvards shall bo final on any point arising out of the definition of district boundaries. In all nominations, description, age, pedigree, and performances of horses,, name of the trainer and colors of the rider must be given. Metropolitan Rules of Racing strictly adhered to. . B. H.
