CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Charitable Aid Board AA r as held last evening. Mi-j, J. Whinray occupied the chair, and Messrs A. Saivycr and M. Someivell Avere also present. The Custodian of the Old Men’s Home reported that last month 15 inmates Avere in the institution, three had loft, one had died, -and three had since been admitted, making 14 inmates at present. He Avished to acknoAvledge .gifts of various kinds from Mesdaanes J. . Townley, W. L. Rees, FitzAvilliam, and Jackson. A Avoman -at present receiving charitable aid asked for assistance to pay her maternity expenses. It Avas decided to pay half the fees, £3 10s. An account Avas received from the Dannevifike Hospital Board lor £6 18s, for expenses incurred in the treatment and burial of William Wood. It Avas decided to- reply that the deceased man had not. boon -a resident of Gisborne. The accounts Avere passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
