POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Hockey Association was held m the Royal Hotel last cvtiling, piesided over by Mr. E. H. Pavitt. T he e ection of the following officers .took place:—President, Mr E. H. Paisley, vice-presidents, Messrs E. H. l J. J. Martin, W- Pj’fhc, L A. Maude, R. Johnson, W. J. Cederwall, C. F. Lewis, and T. The match between the Kia Rah a and Civil Service teams was played on the Victoria Domain on Tuesday afternoon, and resulted in a meritorious win for the Civil Servants by three goals to nil.' Contrary 1 to expectations, the winners showed out to advantage, and from the outset oi the game their forwards displayed unmistakoablo signs of having great pace. Of course, this being their first match, their .small knowledge of tingame rendered a lot of^ their hard work fruitless. The Kia Ivaha’s placed a good, hard game, and towards the end of the second spell fought hard, but unsuccessfully, to better their position.
