sj| the PREMIERS’ CONFERENCE. ' A FINANCIAL - DEBATE. United Press Association —Copyright. HOBART, March 12. The Premiers’ Conference is debating the financial relations of the Commonwealth. The main point is the determination either of a fixed -amount rn a set proportion of Customs excise, which will he returned to the States in lieu of the present three-fourths under the Braddon clause. Mr. Kidston made a proposal that the amount be fixed on a per capita basis. Tasmania, and South Australia favor this. New South Wales and Victoria emphatically opposed it., while West Australia was inclined to support the large States.
