ST. ANDREW’S BIBLE CLASS

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of St. Andrew’s Young Women’s Bible Class was held in the Alanse on Thursday evening at the kind invitation of Airs Grant, there being a good atendance. The sethere being a good attendance. The sccomprehensive report on the year’s work. It stated that at the opening of the second year the roll number was 13, with an "average attendance of 12, and a chinch membership of 9. During the year 15 new members had joined” the class; a number also had left, most of whom had gone from the district. The roll at present numbered 28, with an average attendance of 15, and a church membership of 19. Combined union meetings bad been hold once a quarter. They also had one united meeting with tho Patutalii girls, for whom tea was arranged. A basketball club was formed but did not prove successful.

Arrangements had been made for contributing £3 a year for a cot in the Canton Village Mission, 7s had been donated to the students’ bursary fund, and 11s 9d towards the fund for opening Sunday schools in the backblocks; LOs was also contributed to Home missions. There had been one social and one picnic held during the year. The report concluded by extending si nee restthanks to Mr J. Town ley for his kindness in placing his hall free of charge at the disposal of the class, also to the Cook County Council for allowing the class to meet in its hall. The balance sheet showed a credit balance on the 'year’s operations of £1 os 6d. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Leader, Miss H. M'orico (re-elected); sub-leader. Miss Every; secretary, Miss E. Warren; treasurer, Miss Dunning; class ' artist,. Miss C. Morrison. The election of a committee was postponed until the following week. . Considerable discussion took place, and suggestions were .received for the carrying on of the work, and to further the 'interests of the class in securing new members. An organ fund was started. It was decided that the colors of. the class should be pale blue, and arrangements were made for two members of the class, wearing their rosettes, to be in attendance at the church every Sunday to welcome young women. „ , A unanimous vote of thanks' was accorded Miss F.
