MEETING OF DIRECTORS. A meeting of the Board of Directors was held last evening, Mr. F. S. Malcolm (president) in the clia.'r. General satisfaction was expressed at the progress of the movement, and the question of furnishing received careful consideration. It' was resolved to make an endeavor to have the billiard table available by the opening of the rooms, and it was' reported that arrangements had been made for a piano. A committee from the directors present was appointed to 'confer with the ladies’ meeting at Townley’s Hall to-morrow afternoon, at which the Mayoress (Mrs. W. D. Lysnar) will preside. It was felt that tlie. sympathy of the ladies of the town would help to bring the movement to a successful issue. The directors received with regret the resignation of Mr H. Ennor as lion, secretary. Messrs Preston and Adair spoke in appreciation of Mr. Ennor s ability and enthusiasm, and mention was made of the tact that it was due to liis zoal and initiative that the ioiward movement of the local Association had commenced. Satisfaction was expressed that Mr. Ennor would be present at tllC opening of the new rooms, and that his Services as captain of the •‘Reds” would be available lor the concluding stages of the present membership campaign. Steps arc being taken to have Mr. Ennor’s services suitably recognised. Several committees were appointed to arrange the social functions m connection. with the opening, of the rooms and other matters of importance. An adjournment was made at an early hour to the conversazione arranged by the “Blues,” where several of tlip directors wearing red ribbons met with a warm reception. A meeting of the directors will he held at 7 o’clock next Tuesday evening, in St. Andrew s Schoolroom/ prior _ to the ordinary gathering of Association members. The various athletic clubs in connection with the. Association are being arranged, and a meeting of intending members of tho Hockoy Club is to bo held at Te Rau College to-morrow Wednesday) evening, at 7.30..
