A conference at Glasgow, representing 30,000 Catholic trade unionists, protested against the Scottish Trade Union Congress resolving in favor of •secular education. The conference considered the resolution outside tne scope of trade unionism. LOANS OF UNEMPLOYED RELIEF. Since August Mr. John Burns, President of the Local Government Board, has authorised 569 loans, amounting to £2,708,660, for unemployment works. FATAL COLLISION AT SEA. BERLIN, March 15. The iron sailing ship Margretta, from Hamburg, sunk in the North .Sea, after colliding with the Norwegian steamer Mascot. The captain, his wife,, and child, and seven hands are missing. Nine survivors landed at Lowestoft and six at Rotherdam.
