He left'his home at Kaiti on the hanks of the Waimata. about seven o’clock and,reached liis dostipataion before one. It is Ins intention to spend * few days exploring Cook’s Cove. Inspector Dwyer, officer in charge of the Hawke’s Bay police district, arrived from Napier yesterday morning on’ a visit of. inspection. He visited Te Kanaka yesterday, and leaves for Tologa this morning. He stated that lie understands that provision is being made for strengthening the local police force, but lie lias, not yet been advised of any transfers.
