HOLY TRINITY LADIES’ GUILD.

ANNUAL MEETING.

The. second annual general meeting of Holy Trinity Ladies’ Guild was held """torcmT afternoon in the Anglican Parish Hall. _. _ The vicar of lyne xvev. L. Dawson Thomas) took the chair at 3 o’clock, a very good number of ladies 1 being present: In opening the proceedings, the chairman said that the parish had always been rich in its helpers. As to the ladies, their enthusiasm was proverbial. Ho -could tell them of another parish where the' ladies, after hearing what Gisborne had done, determined to do likewise, and a flourishing guild had been started there. He would not presume, being a mere man, to dictate to the ladies as to their plan of action as a guild, for the year, but he would say that he would be more than satisfied if the results’of their work equalled those of last year. Airs. Hughes, secretary and treasurer to the Guild, presented the financial report, which showed a moderate balance to credit. The election of office-bearers was then proceeded with. The election of a president was deferred to a general meeting to be held on Friday next, at 2.30 p.m., in the schoolroom. Mrs. F. J. Wilson -and Miss Brook Tavlor were elected vice-presidents; Mrs W. E. Goffe was chosen secretary and ’ treasurer. The following were ejected as the general committee. Alesdames Akroyd, Kissling, and Lentill, Alisses Wilson, Walker, Black, E. Williams, and Z. Williams. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the retiring office-bearers. It was decided that the work of the Guild should be carried on in one branch, instead of in senior and junior branches, as last year. It- was agreed to hold afternoon and evening sessions on dates. to be arranged at the meeting on Friday next. A vote of thanks was passed to the vicar for presiding, and after the conclusion of business, afternoon tea was dispensed by the ladies present. ‘
