As the outcome of Mr J. H. Carruthers’ proposal, a general committee of the Captain Cook Memorial has been formed by the Empire League. The prince of Wales is chairman. Lord Bras-ey treasurer. The Lord —ayor of London. Lords Rosebery and Cromer, Mr. Asquith.'Lord Rothschild, and Mr. Balfour arc members. Seventeen exGovernors and Agents.-General represent Australia.
