NOTICE is hereby given that this Council proposes to construct a Tramway from the Borough or Gisborne to Patutahi Quarry and a branch line to Arai Bridge (and with the consent of the Gisborne Borough Council now obtained), a continuation to a site near Custom-house Street. Total length of Tramway about 15 miles. The sum to be borrowed is £30,000. The security to be given is a special rate of nine-fortieths of a penny in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Gisborne, Arai, Hangaroa, Patutahi, and Whataupoko Ridings for a period of 36 years. It is preposed to repay the principal by a sinking fund of o< : f per cent per annum on the loan. L t r
The rate of intere not to exceed five per cent. t, It is proposed to devote the met revenue from the Tramway to • pay interest and sinking fund, and not collect any rate while the net revenue is sufficient for the purpose. The total annual charge' for. interest and sinking fund is- £IBOO. It is proposed to pay the cost of raising the loan and interest for one year ont of the loan monies.
