Sir Gerald Strickland, Governor of • Tasmania, has been appointed Governor Of West Australia. LONDON, March 27. Reuter’s St- John’s correspondent gays that Sir William Macgregor’e promotion to Queensland is universally admitted to be well deserved. He is recorded as by far the most successful Governor of Newfoundland in modern times, handling a succession of difficult questions with rare judgment.
