Royal Commission’s report on, communication between Sydney and North Sydney favors subways on the grounds that the fairway of the harbor must not be constructed as it would be by a bridge, and that tlie capital cost will be less than .that of a bridge. The Commission recommends a subway for railway traffic with a- city terminus in More Street, costing £753,000, a second for .a tramway -at a cost of £460,000, and a third for vehicular traffic to cost £502,000. The report points out that the subway can be constructed separately, whereas a bridge would have to be completed before any of the respective services were available.
