THE NEW ALPINE MINE

((Special to “Times.”)

GREYMOUTH, March 29. The secretary of the New Alpine mine reports for the week ending 23i d March the following progress at the ■mine: —North stopes: In No. 1 stope, <voing north, there is an average of 2tt 6in of solid stone. In No. 2 stope going south, there is an average of ott 6in of solid reef going overhead, and m the face it will average olt. bomb stopes-: In No. 2 stope we have riron 4ft Gin to sft of clean stone. Hus stope- is not connected with tlie north stope yet, but will be in a day or two. In raising No. 3 stope there is 4ft . ox reef Ninety-eight tens were dc ivcred at the battery for the week, making total tonnage of 365 tons to date.
