Eleven suffragists, members of the "Women's Social and Political Union, were arrested outside the House of Commons after 50 minutes’ ‘rushes and scuffles in pelting rain. Some smacked the constables’ faces. The Prince of Wales witnessed the scene, the crowd holding up his motor car. Mr/ Birrell, Secretary of State for Ireland, moved the second reading of the Irish Land Bill. It is approximately the same as that introduced in November.
