’ The U.S.S. Co.’s Waikare arrived from south early yesterday morning, and left again late for Auckland. The U.S.S. Co.’s Mokoia arrived from Auckland and Sydney yesterday alternooon, and continued her voyage south at niyht. ' The U.S.S. Co.’s Squall left .early yesterday morning for Auckland. She does not call at Tologa on the upward trip owing to the heittfcy sea. The U.S.S. Co.’s Flora is due to arrive from Napier early this morning, and to sail again at 9.30 a.m. for Coast ports and Auckland. As the. weather prospects are unfavorable, the U.S.S. Co.’s Tuatea will not proceed to Waipiro to-clay, hut instead ■the Latter Day Saints (Mormons) will proceed to Waipiro to the Mormon conference by the-Flora to-day. The Tuatea will bring the company back next Tuesday. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co.’s Delphic is due here on,Sunday to load for London, for which port she leaves Gisborne on April 7th. The Tvser liner TVhakarua arrives on Monday next to load frozen meat, etc. . THE RAILWAYS. New Zealand with 2500 miles of line has just under 500 locomotives. New South Wales with 3500 miles of railway has 800 locomotives, giving New South Wales a balance of locomotives in proportion to mileage.
